Jumpstart KPC Course 
Sign-up Instructions
Registration begins April 8, 2024

Classes start: August 26, 2024

Last day to withdraw/add classes: September 6 for full refund

Jumpstart forms to KPC by: September 6

**Students can take up to 6 credits per semester using the Jumpstart discount program


Steps to sign up for college classes:
(if you have already taken a math or writing class at KPC, you can skip to step #4)

1. New enrollment to get UA ID number  Click Here

2.Complete the Secondary and Parent/Guardian Agreement Form

3.If taking math/English courses, you must take a placement test. You can call and make an appointment at 907-262-0227. Or, you can sign up to take the test online at this address:  Click Here  

**The math test is called ALEKS and the English test is called the Accuplacer

4.Meet with your KPC counselor or Connections counselor to register for classes once you get your test scores back (if taking math and/or English). Register at this address:  https://www.alaska.edu/uaonline/

5.Fill out Jumpstart tuition application form EACH SEMESTER at this address:

6.College Payment Authorization Form…this form must be completed and your KPC bill stapled to it. Give to your Connections Advisor when completed. The form can be found here: Click Here  

7.Make your Connections advisor a “proxy” to allow them to access your courses and billing by following these instructions:

1.Go to kpc.alaska.edu
2.Click on “UAOnline” (top middle of page)
3.Login using your UA username and password
4.Click the “Proxy Access” tab (upper right)
5.Bottom left, click on “Proxy Management”
6.Click on “Add Proxy” (left side of page)
7.Enter your advisor’s first name, last name, and email address (gleiter@kpbsd.k12.ak.us), then click on ‘add proxy’
8.Once you have added a proxy, click on “proxy access” (upper right) again. Click on “expand Gary Leiter”… the person you just gave permission to, click on “profile” and make sure the “stop date” is May of your graduation year, then click the “authorization tab”, click on the “family access” check box and you are done.



Connections Advisor Instructions Below:

Once this is completed, the advisor will receive an email with a website to visit to create a PIN and complete required profile fields. Next to the website link, you are given an “action password” you will need later when registering.

Once you are registered and have a PIN, when you go to the Proxy site, there will be tabs with each of your students so that you can bounce back and forth between students.
